IMPORTANT NETWORKER EVALUATION INSTALLATION PROCEDURES
The downloaded NetWorker evaluation file contains the NetWorker software which you may evaluate for thirty (30) days. Should you decide to purchase NetWorker, please contact Legato Sales (415-812-6001) or an Authorized Legato Reseller for an enabler code for each product that you purchase. We recommend that you thoroughly evaluate all the software before enabling your purchased products. Once you enable any of the NetWorker products, you can no longer evaluate the options you did not purchase.
To install the NetWorker eval., you need disk space for the compressed download file, as well as for the uncompressed files, install files, documentation, Acrobat Reader, and online indices. In general, you'll need a space allocation of 4X the size of the download file (indicated below.) We highly recommend a total allocation of AT LEAST 100 MB.

After extracting the NetWorker download file, please begin by reading the NetWorker Quick Start Guide, which can be viewed, printed, and/or downloaded from the web.
# cd / # mkdir nsr_extract # mv "filename" nsr_extract # cd nsr_extract
For Solaris: uncompress nw_sol.tar.Z
For Solaris: tar xvpBf /nsr_extract/nw_sol.tarThe NetWorker directories and files list on the screen as the extraction proceeds. When the extraction is complete, refer to the installation instructions in the NetWorker Quick Start Guide, which can be viewed, printed, and/or downloaded from the web.
To install NetWorker and begin evaluating the product, PLEASE BEGIN by reading the NetWorker Quick Start Guide. The Quick Start Guide can be accessed from the web via the NetWorker Eval. request window in the Download Software section or via the Document Library.
Caveat: Please make the necessary substitutions in the installation instructions to reflect that your NetWorker Eval. kit did not originate from CD-ROM media, i.e., where appropriate, replace each instance of "cdrom" with the directory in which you uncompressed and extracted the downloaded file.
